Popina was born as a farmer’s market stall, offering a range of freshly baked goods. While they still frequent farmers’ markets in the UK, they’ve now also opened up a permanent location in the heart of Mayfair. The cute cafe is housed in an old red brick building, with a handful of tables both inside and outside. The simple interior with white walls and warm wooden furniture contrasts the grandeur of Duke Street, offering a cosy getaway from hustle and bustle of central London.
The breakfast menu adds a modern touch to classic options. Organic eggs from Tilly’s Traditionals are used in exciting dishes, including the green shakshuka and Raclette cheese melt, and ranchos style with lime guacamole. The cafe is also well known for its halal full English breakfast, and the mouth-watering spread of fresh pastries displayed on the counter.
Popina also offers a range of beverages to pair with any type of breakfast, from a classic cup of coffee to innovative experiments, such as golden turmeric latte and beetroot and cereal coffee. They also make a mean hot chocolate and serve a variety of teas.
