Having loved The Riding House Cafe for quite some time, I was extremely excited to hear that they had a big sister restaurant opening up. When meeting friends for breakfast, I often find Victoria to be a well connected, central location and lucky for us they seem to be continuously upping their breakfast game.

As soon as you approach Rail House Cafe you know that you are in for a special experience. The team are extremely friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is buzzing but in a very relaxed and understated way.

Onto the food: I think, firstly, I have to acknowledge that the chefs here seriously know what they’re doing with a poached egg. It feels like a speciality of theirs and this is showcased across their menu whereby you can have poached eggs in a number of different formats. Paired with mushroom, avocado, smoked salmon, feta and so much more, it’s a touch choice! If you are feeling like something sweet, similar to The Riding House Cafe, they also have pancakes and then take their sweet items a step further by offering french toast too.

If you’re feeling something lighter then granola or their chia seed pot could be the direction to head in. Perhaps alongside a juice or smoothie? Booking is definitely advised if you’re in bigger groups. Otherwise, as a two, you’ll usually find a table or a seat at the bar.
