Final Chance To Eat Out To Help Out: Last Minute Breakfast Bargains

Guide 30th August 2020

If you haven’t spent August using every penny of any money saved up in lock-down, then shame on you my friend for killing the economy!

But don’t fear, there is still time to change your selfish ways this coming Super Monday (you heard it here first) – the very last day of the government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme.

So don a mask, stock up on hand gel and embrace the last day of ridiculously cheap London dining on the government. Cheers to that!

Here are some of my favourite London breakfast spots that are ready and waiting for you to redeem yourself on Monday 31st August.

HALF CUP

For some of the most aesthetic breakfasts in London head to Half Cup this bank holiday and prepare for edible flowers, brightly coloured lattes and artistically scattered garnishes. This place is definitely not style with no substance however; it’s Oreo French Toast is nothing short of a breakfast masterpiece, both in taste and presentation. Get there early to make the most of the walk-in only policy and cosy interior.

26 GRAINS

Porridge revolutionaries 26 Grains have been offering half price food throughout August, meaning its breakfast bowls are now an absolute steal. Offering a variety of grain, milk and topping combinations, 26 Grains is here to prove anyone who thinks porridge is boring very wrong indeed. Discount is available at both the Neal’s Yard and Stoney Street branches.

GAIL’S

I rejoiced at the news that my favourite London bakery would be participating in Eat Out to Help Out, as it would now be the standard price of a bakery chain anywhere else in the country. Stop by at your local for a quick pre-work bite and pick up a piping hot, freshly baked pastry and a flat white for pennies (almost).

Flat White now £1.40 and Cinnamon Bun now £1.45

MEGAN’S

Dotted around some of London’s most sought after neighbourhoods, mediteranean style eatery Megan’s offers vibrant food, a buzzing atmosphere and an extensive brunch menu, serving everything from firm favourites like Eggs Royale, to Turkish inspired cheese fondue. A more glamorous brunch experience, Megan’s is perfect for a date or special celebration – not that you need an excuse to bag these breakfast bargains.
